About Melissa
It was lying on a cold floor after a harrowing experience that Melissa decided to change her life. She was 25 years old and 2500 miles away from California where she grew up. Within six months, she turned her life around. She got back to California, got a job, and started college. Never the one to only be attracted to one subject, she changed her major 8 times before settling on Social Work. The two consistent interests in Melissa’s life have always been helping others and spirituality.
Ten years earlier, at the age of 15, when she picked up her first book on spirituality, the quest of knowing Self, has been an integral part of her life. At times this deep need to know what “It” is all about, was the singular focus in her life - helping her cope with and understand very difficult times. Melissa has come to understand through taking the higher viewthat spirituality offers you, that we are ALL struggling in our own way, with our own difficult times, past and present. That every person we meet is a reflection of ourselves and an opportunity to grow.
After years of contemplation and learning, Melissa has distilled her philosophy down to three core existential questions we all ask ourselves when trying to find our way: Who am I? Where do I belong? How do I survive in this world? Often our attempts to answer these questions lead to the greatest knowledge of Self. Doing so, invariably allows us to question Life, Universe, and Everything. To not only understand ourselves as a human but also to understand ourselves as a soul and what it means to exist.
So, who is Melissa? She is a compassionate soul who has a genuine affinity for others. Where does she belong? She belongs in her own skin, fully accepting herself in all her facets of Self, even the ones we don’t tend to like. How does she survive in this world? The very best way she can, doing what she feels she came here to do. Melissa sees her job as facilitating you in your journey to discover your inner strength. Melissa wants to assist you in understanding yourself as human as well as divine. Melissa supports people in sorting through their past and improving their future. Melissa works with individuals to gain connection with the All (Godhead, Source, Deity) and to use that connection as a source of strength and personal power.
The poet Victor Anderson stated: “Celebrate yourself and you will see that Self is everywhere. “ That is core to Melissa’s understanding. To further that, Melissa believes if we truly desire Peace in this world, it begins within us. Melissa believes that we as individuals have an obligation to the rest of existence to live a happy, healthy, and centered life. Melissa wants to help people fulfill that obligation – to learn to celebrate Self. It is all Within.
